Summer 2006 Internship Opportunity
The Upstate History Alliance, a museum service organization in upstate
New
York, is seeking an intern for summer, 2006. The intern will have two
main
areas of responsibility. The first task will be to collect information
and
update the database for Word on Women, a project of the NYS Documentary
Heritage Program, identifying archival collections relating to women's
history. The second task will be to work with UHA's Director and
Program
Coordinator in planning and implementing a variety of training
opportunities
including roundtables, book club discussions and conferences.
This position provides an opportunity to gain an overview of the
diversity
of museums in New York State and their professional development needs.
Applicants should be upper level undergraduates or graduate students,
with
demonstrated interest in museum work. Position is 35 hours/week from
June-August; $10 per hour. A driver's license and vehicle are essential.
