Hershey Museum Asking Residents to Report Information on Recent Theft
Theft occurred on Thursday, August 31
A 19th century silver and glass inkstand was stolen from Hershey Museum
on Thursday, August 31. The irreplaceable inkstand has a rectangular,
flat silver base with four feet, a square, clear glass well and a silver
lid. The top of the lid is decorated with a squirrel. The front of the
base also features two more squirrels.
The inkstand is marked "Graves & Kurtz, New York." The piece has the
museum's catalog number inscribed on all three parts. The base is
marked "79.001.13a," the glass well is marked "79.001.13b" and the lid
is marked "79.001.13c."
The overall dimensions of the inkstand are: 4.25" H x 3.875" W x 4.75"D.
