Salary Range for Requisition
$28,000 plus benefits. THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN SARASOTA, FL.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency and two of appropriate experience. Three years experience preferred.
Requirements
Knowledge of fine art handling. Skill in use of carpentry and hand tools; use of computers to monitor exhibition schedules, use e-mail, etc.; and in design and preparation of gallery lighting to meet museum standards. This position requires fingerprinting.
Schedule
Daily 8:00 - 5:00 PM Incumbent may be required to work additional hours based upon exhibition deadlines or special events requiring Preparator assistance.
Responsibilities
Assist Sr. Preparator in fabricating crates for international and domestic transport of fine art, display cases, pedestals, plinths for exhibitions, temporary walls/partitions. Assists in moving and handling traveling exhibition collections including installation, lighting, mats and frames, production of labels/didactics, packing and crating works of art. Establishing collection maintenance schedules for all Museum venues and implements.
