Hi Amy - I am not familiar with the 'archival' variety, but a good pharmacy
should have what are called 'finger cots.' They are used to cover an
individual injured finger and keep it dry. Also, by googling "finger cots"
I found a number of websites including http://www.fingercots.net/ .

I am requesting help for a colleague of mine in the Slide Library.
She is looking for the proper name and distributor of the disposable
finger gloves used when handling slides. They slip over individual
fingers rather than the entire hand. Does anyone know what I am
