This topic has been useful. I have an interest in Hollywood history. I feel that
this part of American culture should be preserved. I have a collection of items
that relate to people from Indiana with a Hollywood connection. Currently the
Indiana Historical Society and Monroe County Historical Society have exhibits
on the subject. I am displaying my collection in a Main street building. I have
worked in a museum for 15 years as a media technician. I have attended
museum workshops. My goal is to educate the public on how Indiana has been
a part of Hollywood. People can go through my clipping files. I would love to
call it a "museum" but I know better. I have named the place "Hall of
Hollywood Hoosiers". This is one-person operation but I could get a board for
non-profit reasons. I would like to go non-profit because that is my
background. I am not in this for the money. I want to educate the public. If I
call myself a musuem it would be easy for the public to know what I am. I
want the visitor to know that I am not a store. Can I call myself a museum?
