Dear Colleagues,
Please see the Call for Papers for volume 7 of the journal In.Form pasted
below. The theme is Art and Architecture and the deadline is October 1,
2006.
I'm sure many of you have objects in your collections that beg the
difference between architecture and art, and could submit a thoughtful
article. Perhaps your building itself, whether contemporary or historical,
debates this relationship.
I would be happy to hear your ideas privately and discuss your submission.
Thank you for your consideration.
Best,
Amber
In.Form, a peer-reviewed journal of Architecture, Design, and Material
Culture
invites you to assess
Art and Architecture
In.Form announces a unique issue committed to evaluating the relationship
between art and architecture and where the line is drawn between these two
dichotomies. Articles may range between art debated as architecture, vice
versa, and the separation of the two. In addition, they may incorporate
both interiors, exteriors, and all related fields of design. For example,
is architecture limited to usable spaces, or can someone live in art?
Likewise, can something be uninhabitable and still be architecture? Are
designers obligated to incorporate both aspects in their designs? What
about culture differences – is architecture in North America still
architecture if it is relocated to Asia? The deadline for submissions for
Volume 7 is October 1, 2006. Only complete papers will be accepted –
please do not send abstracts. Authors, artists, and designers will be
responsible for obtaining copyright permission for images submitted within
text.
Submit three paper copies, one electronic copy, and your Curriculum
Vita.
Please follow The Chicago Manual of Style
Notes should be separate from the text and placed at the end of the
manuscript.
Images, if scanned, need to be 250 dpi or higher. All images should be
supplied on a CD or Zip disk. Slides and BW photos are acceptable.
