I thought Museum-L subscribers would be interested to hear the latest
lecture released on the Ideas podcast.
Ideas is CBC Radio's premier program of contemporary thought. The
latest lecture that I am referring to is a fascinating meditation on
museums by cultural critic Adam Gopnik. His lecture, entitled, "To Sit
or to Talk?" was the 2006 Eva Holtby Lecture at the Royal Ontario
Museum. While some of his thoughts will be common knowledge among
museum professionals, some of his concepts are quite thought-provoking
and the Q+A afterward is also likely to be of interest.
