I have just become curator of a collection that includes a number of New
Mexican textiles--mostly wool and cotton colchas, blankets etc. In about a
year, we will be completely upgrading collections storage but until that
time I need to rehouse these objects as best as I can.
Currently, some pieces are rolled and stored in plastic trash bags, some
are folded and in plastic trash bags, some are out on open shelves (rolled,
folded or "lumped"). On or off list, I'd appreciate suggestions for how to
best rehouse these in the short-term (and on a limited budget) as I have no
experience with textiles.
Thank you very much.
