Hello-
I have a situation where our institution received a joint gift of objects
from a brother and sister (they inherited the material from their father).
Now each of them want to take a tax deduction for the material, and have
both sent me a form 8283. Has anyone come across this situation before? I
would think the gift would need to be listed on each form as a 50% interest,
but have never come across this situation before, and wanted to get an
inside opinion before calling my local tax office...
Many thanks!
