The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, BC, had a gorgeous exhibit of the
famous geisha Ichimaru's kimonos in 2001. Try contacting the curator of that
exhibit (according to the catalog it traveled to other venues in Canada)

I sympathize with you- I own a lovely Japanese wedding kimono that is
incredibly heavy and HUGE, and is still in its (acid free) box because we
can't figure out a good, affordable solution for hanging it at home.

Greetings all,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a good source for kimono stands –
preferably the t-form stands. Our museum is preparing for an exhibition of
Chinese robes and tapestries and we are located in California. I’m hoping to
find a West Coast source but East Coast is fine too. We were looking at
sources in the UK so basically anything closer than that is better for us
financially.
