Huh. Perhaps y'all have encountered this anecdote, gleaned from
http://www.sebourn.com/stupid/stpdsgn.html ~~~
On a trip to London, we visited a museum which had special facilities
for disabled visitors. Many exhibits had small brass plates with
Braille writing (you know, with raised dots so blind people can 'feel'
the words). The translation underneath said, "PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THIS
EXHIBIT."

Hmm, is this normal? I was at the Museum of Modern Art in New York
the other day, and was impressed with their donor wall -- nicely
etched-metal plaques, etc. Being such a tactile person, I reached out
to feel the letters ... and was firmly reprimanded by the guard. Later
I mentioned this to a friend who works at the museum, and was told,
"Oh, no, the guards don't even let anyone touch the blank walls!"
