i have found wikipedia very informative and very reliable. their editors
frequently do scan each new page, and new pages are often marked if there is
a problem for correction, editing, content, or deletion. it has become so
reliable due to the fact that the people who edit - scan to edit pages
of their professional and/or personal interest.
also keep in mind that once
a page is started scholars and professionals worldwide can jump in to
contribute. this makes for well-rounded content.
