The federal Institute of Museum and Library Services announced today
over $20 million in grants to museums and libraries throughout the
nation under the following four grant categories:
$17.3 Million Awarded to Advance Innovation and Public Service at
Nation's Museums and Libraries
WASHINGTON, DC - The Institute of Museum and Library Services, the
primary source of federal funds for the nation's museums and libraries,
today announced the recipients of its prestigious National Leadership
Grants for 2005. More than $17 million ($17,349.361) is being awarded to
41 museum and libraries throughout the country in this highly
competitive grant program. The recipients will match the awards with an

Native American Communities Receive $1.6 Million for Library
Enhancements
WASHINGTON, DC - The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS),
the primary source of federal funds for the nation's museums and
libraries, awarded $1,604,000 today to 13 Native American tribal
communities and Alaska Native villages to improve library services to
their communities. The recipients will match the grants with an

Nearly $1 Million Awarded to Museum Professional Development Projects
WASHINGTON, DC - The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS),
the primary source of federal funds for the nation's museums and
libraries, awarded $996,760 today to four organizations under the 21st
Century Museum Professionals program. The recipients will match the
