This comment is only tangentially related, as the Rankin House is a
historic house museum,and the "exhibits" are the furnished rooms. The bulk of the
interpretation is oral. However, Ifrequently learn from visitors' comments about the House. If they are
older residents of thearea, they often know more about its history than I do. Some also have
knowledge of "lore"which I try to prove or debunk because it comes up frequently. Often
visitors are moreknowledgeable than I, especially when it comes to history of the American
Civil War.
