Curatorial Assistant

The Bowdoin College Museum of Art, an AAM-accredited museum, is seeking
applications for the position of Curatorial Assistant, a two-year
appointment. The Curatorial Assistant reports to the Curator and assists
in research and administrative tasks. The Curatorial Assistant drafts
and/or produces exhibition labels; makes scheduling and other
arrangements for public education programs; drafts and distributes
public relations materials on Museum locally, nationally, and
internationally. Contributes to updating the Museum’s website.
Represents the Museum on campus and in the field.
Applicants should be a graduating senior or recent graduate of an
undergraduate liberal arts program, with a major or strong minor in art
history, an excellent academic record, and should have a commitment to
museum work. Strong computer skills preferred. Museum work experience,
knowledge of museum operations, and professional work experience
strengthen the application.
