The Queens Library Gallery seeks a Gallery Educator/Docent. The
Educator/Docent’s duties would include, but are not limited to:
-Conducting school and public tours of the Gallery’s fall exhibition
-Working closely with the Assistant Exhibitions Manager and Curator to
design lesson plans and teacher kits
-Conducting teacher workshops
-Other duties as necessary
The ideal candidate has a background in art education or art history,
experience conducting public tours, and experience working with children.
Knowledge of WPA-era art would be a plus. Computer literacy, including
knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is also preferred. He/She should be
responsible, punctual, and flexible.
The Queens Library Gallery is located in Jamaica, at the Library’s Central
Location. Our mission is to foster an awareness of and appreciation for
art, history and international cultures in the Queens community - the most
ethnically diverse county in the nation. To learn more about our
