Associate Specialist, Contemporary Asian Art
For our renowned auction house client, we are seeking an Associate
Specialist in Contemporary Asian Art for the New York office. The ideal
candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in Contemporary
Asian Art, and exceptional knowledge of the international market and
prices. The successful candidate will research submitted property to
determine authenticity, bibliography, provenance and exhibition history;
catalogue property for private and public sales; review incoming photo
inquiries, prepare condition reports and assist clients and senior staff
during events, programming and sale week; serve as a primary liaison
with consultants and other independent experts; and prepare properties
for evaluation. Some travel to Hong Kong for sales is required. The
ideal applicant will have at least four years experience in a similar
position or two years as a Junior Specialist and possess excellent
communications and interpersonal skills. BA and fluency in English,
Mandarin required; other Asian languages considered. Excellent salary
