Hi Nicole,
I am a Fleming Grad and they had a book in the bookstore there on Natural
History Collections care that I picked up. Its called "Storage of Natural
History Collections: A Preventive Conservation Approach" editors were
Carolyn L. Rose, Catherine A. Hawks and Hugh H. Genoways. If you can find a
copy it would probably come in handy for storage and conservation questions.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Moving a Natural History Collection
Hello,
My name is Nicole and I am doing a work term at The Rooms Provincial Museum
of Newfoundland and Labrador - we are currently researching the most
effective way to move the natural history collection to its new home about
5km away. There are over 5000 specimens that need to be rehoused - mostly
consisting of various sized bottles. If anyone has experience moving any
type of museum collection and has some advice I will gladly accept anything
that comes my way. We are also looking into the necessary components to
barcode the museum collection if anyone has experience with that.
Thanks a lot
Nicole
