I read the book "Ghost Soldiers" by Hampton Sides which is about the same 
incident and I can assure you there is no love story in there.  I'm not 
really sure how I feel about one being put in.  Ghost Soldiers was pretty 
graphic about what befell those poor people, not much romance in it...
