Has anyone established or worked on establishing a state contract for
pre-approved vendors in the case of emergency situations?
In the wake of recent flooding, the Office of Cultural Education (New
York State Archives, Library, Museum & Public Broadcasting) is trying to
fill in the gaps associated with our Recovery Plan/Continuity Plans.
One issue I have started to discuss with our contracts and purchasing
officers is how too get quick service in a short period of time without
having to go through the hoops of vendor pre-approval and competitive
pricing.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina I know there have been similar
discussions/needs in the Southern States, however, as of yet no such
contracts have been established. Or at least brought to my attention.
If you know of any or have worked on such an effort I would like to
talk with you further. Please contact me off-list at the e-mail address
below.
Thank you.
