relates to the museum's educational mission. In 2000, The Metropolitan
Museum of Art launched its prize-winning Timeline of Art History on its
website. This chronological, geographical and thematic exploration of the
history of art allows viewers to compare and contrast works from around
the world, and is an example of extending the educational mission of an
institution far beyond the walls of the museum.
Bill Weinstein, Philadelphia Museum of Art: Bill Weinstein, Director of
Information Services at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, will discuss the
issue of museums and technology by looking back to museums’ first
encounters with computers. He will also discuss what the future may hold
for museums and technology.

demonstrated visionary and innovative leadership, and/or exemplified the
highest standards of professional commitment.
