If you haven't already, I suggest you contact the good folks at Colonial
Williamsburg (either the interpretation office or the Lou Powers at the
research office) or the folks at Historic St. Mary's City. Like you, I
associate the use of ribbon color as an indicator of marital status with
the Moravians.
