How precise do you need to be? The Canadian Conservation Institute has
one of their CCI Notes on how to use a camera (35mm SLR with light
meter) to measure light levels, but it only gives an approximation, and
doesn't work well on picking up "hot spots." If you're interested in
the procedure (it's only one page), I'll fax you a copy of it if you
send me your fax number.

between $1,200 and $2000. Does anyone have a source that is a bit more
