Jen,
The best place to get all this information (and all your other registrarial
needs) is from the New Museum Registration Methods (available from the AAM
Bookstore: www.aam-us.org). You should also visit the AAM Registrars
Committee website (www.rcaam.org) and consider joining the national
committee and/or your regional registrars committee (all that information is
on the website).

Subject: first time organizing an exhibit--pointers, tips?
When asking for an exhibit, what are the steps involved?
I'm new to the field of Registrar work and have the opportunity to organize
and exhibit for my musuem. However, I've never done this before. I want to
provide the lending institution with a professional, informational
presentation but don't know what to include. I have sent a primary interest
email and received a positive response and they requested more information.
Now I feel I need to set a standard for our museum to "impress" them, so to
speak.
Would you suggest I write a statement of purpose, a budget plan (I do not
know what their lender fees would be, or how to ask that question of them
tactfully), a summarized facilities report, or samples of our loan/shipping
agreements? Do I need to line out a marketing/advertising plan or just
mention what national/regional outlets we proved news releases and
advertising?
Thanks in advance,
Jen Hughes
