Dear Sabrina,
The key word is vinyl which is something you never want around collection
objects- short or long term. The dots are actually polyvinyl chloride and
pick up whatever dirt that they come in contact with. This is impossible
to wash out and this dirt will susequently transfer to whatever is handled
next.
I thought that these things were the greatest thing since sliced bread
when they first came out years ago- especially for handling slippery
glassware. I have since learned otherwise. Stay away from them.
