It seems to me that "young" and "new" are distinct concepts that might
have different needs or perspectives.
A "new" professionals group (of whatever age) implies career advancement
concerns, need for mentoring, assistance with training, etc.
A "young" (of a defined chronological age range) professionals group,
however, will bring a different and possibly refreshing perspective to
the world of museums, and be able to speak for younger audiences and
more recent techniques of learning. A generational difference. That
could be a very good thing.
Young (in age) professionals are also more likely to have pressing
work/family concerns, like how to handle maternity/paternity leave.
Of course, practically speaking, either "new" or "young" will most
likely be mainly people who are in fact chronologically young - but when
you add in career-changers, the focus shifts a bit.
