We evaluate all potential outloans from our collection by having the
borrower fill out the Standard Facilities Report developed by the
Registrar's Committee of AAM.  One question specifically asks if food and
drink are allowed in exhibition galleries.  It is highly unlikely that we
will loan to a borrower who allows this practice.
We do not allow food or drink in our exhibition galleries and say so in
our Facilities Report.  So- thank goodness, I have no horror stories to
report from my institution.
