On the bottom
is a Whitman's Chocolate sticker half peeled off and the metal is
stamped
with "Made in China."
Can't help much on the identification, but the "Made In China" is an
indication that the piece almost certainly post-dates 1921, when the
McKinley Tariff Act of 1890 (which originally required only the country
of origin be printed on products imported for sale in the U.S.) was
amended to require the addition of "Made In" and for the country of
origin to be in English.
Not much additional info, I know; but I hope that helps narrow your
search a bit.
