Subject: Re: [MUSEUM-L] fine art shipping
It really depended on what I was shipping. In a past life for shipping
crated exhibitions rented from a place like SITES or ExhibitsUSA, I
usually used a van line such as North American. Depending, of course on
the requirements of the exhibition organizer. Sometimes I went through
corporate and sometimes with a local office. McCollister's (a United Van
Lines agent) in New Jersey always gave me good service (800)257-9595
For shipping fine art I've used a varety of shippers including
USArt (800)872-7876
Artex (888)422-7839
You could also call TCI and have them take care of everything.

There are a lot of other options. One place to find this kind of
information is the Registrar's Committee web site. Members of RC get the
membership directory that also lists vendors.
