Assistant Investment Accounting Analyst
The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks an Assistant Investment Accounting Analyst. This person will have dual reporting responsibilities, with approximately 75% of the time devoted to the Controller's Office and 25% devoted to the Treasury function. Primary responsibilities and duties include: preparing monthly reconciliations of custodian statements to investment manager statements and document and investigate variances; assisting Senior Investment Analyst in the recording of daily transactions related to the alternative asset investment portfolio, and submitting those transactions to the custodian and reconciling to the Investran system; assisting Treasury in the processing of wire and ACH transfers; reviewing monthly banking fees; reviewing and processing all management fee invoices; preparing quarterly reconciliation of management fees and investigating any fees that may have been netted by managers; reviewing and filing of K-1's from limited partners and investment managers; processing monthly DASNY interest and interest rate Swap payments; updating, listing, and filing confirmations of all open broker accounts; completing other analysis and projects as assigned by supervisor and/or requested by other departments, and other related duties as required.
Successful candidates will have 1-2 years of related experience; accounting and not-for-profit experience, preferred. Must have strong analytical skills. Must have excellent computer skills (including Excel and Word). Must have the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Must have excellent communication skills. Bachelor's Degree required; degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics, preferred. Good understanding of investment and not-for-profit accounting, preferred.
