I'd vote for sending an answer, especially if it's brief, to the
whole list because:
(1) Other people probably are interested (and if not, it's easy to
hit the delete key), and
(2) Getting the answer may involve several people on the list ("last
I heard, so-and-so was in Nebraska," whereupon someone in Nebraska
who didn't know that might be able to get the complete address
easily).
But I agree, the "me, too" requests for info should go to the
individual.
