By all means use it correctly. We should keep in mind that we are not
speaking French, but English. The term has been appropriated into English,
and does not necessarily mean what it meant in French.
In the English usage, it can be used as an adjective, adverb, and
preposition. The adjectival meaning is the one carrying the "appropriate"
meaning in English. For a more complete explanation of the definition of
the term in English, please refer to

Enjoy.

The definition of "a propos" is "as regards to" or "concerning" it is NOT a
synonym for "appropriate." I know Americans like to bastardize their
French,
and I must sound like a complete lunatic for making an issue of this. But a
propos of language, please let's use it appropriately!
