ASIAN ART DEPARTMENT
The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks an Administrative Assistant 2 for the Department of Asian Art. The department is responsible for the arts of China, Japan, Korea, and South and Southeast Asia. The Administrative Assistant supports the work of the Chairman and curatorial staff of the department. This includes maintaining the appointment calendar and daily mail for the Chairman; answering the telephone; handling correspondence; assisting the curatorial and administrative staff as requested; maintaining departmental mailing lists and files; managing the Friends of Asian Art program; and other related duties. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills; an attention to detail with follow-through on multiple projects simultaneously; and strong typing and computer skills. A college degree is preferred.
