Thank you so much to everyone who offered up advice about the pin. Our
patron is very excited about the idea of finding out more about it. As it
turns out, I was mistaken; the pin belonged to her grandfather, not her
father, and she says her grandfather would have been too old to have been
involved in shipbuilding during WWII, but he would have been the right age
during WWI. He lived in Michigan. Does anyone know of any shipbuilding
firms that were located in Michigan during WWI?
Also, she sent me a picture of the pin, which I would be happy to share with
any interested parties.
