Good Afteroon All,
The Pink Palace Family of Museums is doing a Marketing Plan for our School
Group Programming efforts and I am interested in establishing a baseline
of comparable data to be used in this study (i.e. writing quantitative
objectives). Specifically, I am interested in learning about the central
tendency of various museums' penetration into their particular school
group markets.....expressed as a percentage.
First we must agree on the definition of MARKET PENETRATION.....I am using
the following definition.......
"The share of a given market that is provided by a particular good or
service at a given time."

My question to my fellow List-serves is..........“What is your last
completed fiscal year’s school group (K-12) attendance, out of a total
school (K-12) student enrollment in your museum’s service area (i.e.
county or region served)?"
With these two numbers -- museum school group attendance (divided by)
total regional (or county) school enrollment......we will have a
percentage number, which represents the museum’s market penetration in
reaching school students, which we defined as......"The share of given
market (school students) that is provided by a particular good or service
(museum programming) at a given time (fiscal year)."
Would you be willing to share these two numbers with me?
