The Department of State has posted a Call for Proposals for the 2006 Cairo and Sao Paulo biennales at the URL listed below. Proposals sumbitted in response to this solicitation will be reviewed at the first meeting of the new Federal Advisory Committee on International Exhibitions (FACIE) in the fall.
The deadline in August 15, 2005. Applications must be submitted by non-profit organizations. Independent curators may apply, but must do so in cooperation with an institution. Individual artists may not apply.
As noted in the link below, interested applicants will need to contact Leanne Mella at the State Department to obtain application information. One link below is for Cairo and the other for Sao Paulo. Organizations may apply for both bienniales, but must submit separate applications with separate budgets.
