I'm taking my first trip to Britain next month, spending several days in
Glasgow, a few hours in Edinburgh and a day (yikes!) in London.
I work at a medium sized natural history museum in California and various
parts of my job include exhibits, collections and programming. Much of our
audience is children.
Does anyone on the list have any recommendations regarding "must not miss"
museums in any of the above cities that might be of interest to someone in
this whirlwind travel situation? The subject matter of the museum is much
less important than my interest in checking out interesting
display/programming. I'm expecting to go as a tourist, though if someone on
the list has an offer I can't refuse...
Failing alternative recommendations, a trip to the Burrell in Glasgow,
(really brief) visits to NH Museum (esp. Darwin Centre) and British Museum
in London. and something along the Royal Mile in Edinburgh are what I'm
figuring on now.
Thanks in advance - replying off list is probably proper for this.
