“BASICS AND BEYOND” DIGITIZATION WORKSHOP
ILLINOIS STATE LIBRARY, SPRINGFIELD
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2005
The Illinois Digitization Institute will be
offering cultural heritage institutions a one-day
workshop on digital imaging at the Illinois State
Library in Springfield on Tuesday, November 1,
2005. This workshop will introduce participants
from museums and libraries to issues involved in
planning digitization project that will allow
them to make informed decisions about starting
such projects. The following topics will be addressed:
• Advantages and disadvantages of digital imaging
• Digital image basics
• How to plan successful and sustainable projects
• Professional standards for digital images
• Equipment choices
• Making use of the Illinois Digital Archives
The workshop will run from 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The registration fee is $45.00 per person and
includes lunch, refreshments, and handouts. Space
is limited, so please register as soon as
possible. No refund of fees will be given after Wednesday, October 26, 2005.
