Please forgive the cross postings if you are also on the museum-ed
list.
I am researching the administration of mobile computer labs within the
museum setting with the goal of learning how best to administer such a
piece of equipment.
If you have a lap top lab at your institution, please consider writing
me back with the answers to the following questions. I would appreciate
you
forwarding this message to the person in charge of the equipment at
your
institution.
Sincerely,
Treden Wagoner

Questions regarding mobile computing labs
1. What was your institutional goal for purchasing and maintaining
this
equipment? What was its intended use? How is it actually used?
2. What department is responsible for the management and maintenance
of
this equipment?
3. Have you established rules and policies regarding the use of this
equipment? If so, would you share them with me?
4. Does this equipment have multiple uses? For example, is it used for
educational programs and staff software/systems training? Do you loan
out individual laptops for staff use?
5. If a client rents space at your institution is the mobile lab
available for
them to use? Under what terms?
6. What company manufactured your equipment? Would you recommend this
company?
7. What difficulties have you had in the routine operation of this
equipment?
Thank you in advance your four reply. I look forward to hearing from
you.
