Kirk,
I would look at the materials used for lightweight cockpit covers. Something silky with a smooth surface will be less likely to catch on things as it's put on & removed. It's already good at not scratching things or it wouldn't be used on canopies.

Subject: Dust covers for objects on exhibit
Our small museum has a number of aircraft engines on exhibit. They are in a
hanger bay that often has the hanger doors open during work periods as
aircraft are moved in and out. So the environment can be dusty.
What material is best for making dust covers for the engines and other
objects when the museum is not open but are easily removed and stored when
it museum is open - bed sheets, painters drop cloths, canvas, etc. In the
operational world we would just use canvas, but now we need something not so
heavy and something that will not leave marks or affect paint, etc.
