Hi Jennifer,
I would suggest maintaining some sense of balance. Charging more will bring
in more admission revenue; but will exclude some communities.
So, you might have a regular admission (for everything but the
'blockbuster') with an add-on/surcharge for the 'blockbuster'.
You could have a free evening and/or Saturday where everything but the
blockbuster is free, and the blockbuster costs only the add-on/surcharge
amount.
You could have one (or more) special event(s) -- a "bring your children
day," "family day," community day," "educator day," etc. sponsored by a
company and/or school/university when admission is free for limited hours
(i.e., if normal hours are noon to 5 pm, charge no admission from noon to 2
pm). Such a day could feature special activities, or just be about the
'blockbuster'.
Lots of variations to consider . . .
Best wishes, sincerely,
Jay Heuman
