Job Description: Collections Management Specialist
Pejepscot Historical Society seeks a Collections Management Specialist
responsible for creation and management of a computer database system for
the museum collection. Duties include: upgrading storage conditions,
performing condition assessments, inventory, reconciling records to objects,
research, cataloging, data entry, working with a team of volunteers, and
attending quarterly meetings. Position reports to the Curator. Attention
to detail and confidentiality are required. Must be a team player and
computer literate. Supervisory skills, flexibility, and initiative highly
desirable. The ideal candidate will have a BA or MA in museum studies or
related field. PHS will provide training in object handling and specific
software program. Preference will be given to candidates with prior museum
database experience. Position is grant funded for two years, 28 hours per
