Hello! The Charlotte Museum of History features an American Indian Garden
featuring a selection of plants and herbs native to this region prior to
European settlement. This Garden is adjacent to our picnic area.
We have recently received a small grant to publish a visitor guide and
install garden labels. Do any of you have thoughts, concerns, ideas, or
practical advice regarding garden signage?
We are still in the information-gathering phase, and hope to begin formal
research and development by mid-February.
After speaking with several senior staff members, we have been made aware
of a few issues to consider: several of these plants tend to migrate
seasonally, so a permanent marker may not be the best idea; impermanent
markers can be (and have been) displaced by students and other
troublemakers.
Any advice you can provide is most appreciated!
