The Mississippi Department of Archives and History, Museum Division,
Collections section seeks a collections manager. The Old Capitol Museum
in Jackson, Mississippi, is an AAM accredited institution. The
collections manager will assist with the care and management of the
museum's collection of over 12,000 artifacts. Candidates should be
knowledgeable in the management of artifact storage and retrieval;
conducting research, cataloging and re-cataloging of the museum's
collections; performing collections care procedures to minimize risks to
the collections; performing updates to computerized collections
records; registration duties; and serving on the Exhibits Planning
Team. Incumbents work under the general supervision of the curator and
may supervise volunteers in their section. Requirements include a
master's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in
museum studies, history or a related field; Bachelor's degree from an
accredited four-year college or university in museum studies, history,
or a related field and one year of related experience. Starting annual
salary is $24,569.13 plus benefits. Deadline for receiving applications
