This is obviously a conservation related issue.
I would discourage using B72 in/and acetone, as well as other solvents, if
unsure about the results and reactions. The foam in question may have a
different composition from the foam used on mouse pads.
Please consult a trained and specialized conservator when in doubt. You can
find one through AIC (American institute for Conservation) at
http://aic.stanford.edu/ or by posting conservation related queries on the
conservation distribution list <[log in to unmask]>.

Jessica-
After a quick check on various resources I didn't find anything specific
about rubber, however, I did a little experiment and tried B-72 with my
personal mousepad and found that B-72 seems to be find (don't know about
long term) and I was able to remove it with acetone.
I'm interested in what others have to say also.
Good Luck
