Amanda-
As I'm sure you know the lamination of these items is permanent, usually
irreversible, and inherently damaging to the object. So, I wouldn't worry
about number removal. For writing on plastics that you do not need
removability, try a pen used for plastics. I recommend Raiser CD[R] pen for
CD's, Film and Glass. I believe they are available from Light Impressions
and University Products. I usually use them for marking plastic bags and
other similar things, but would also work for this type of object.
