The museum association of New York produces a salary survey. Check with
them - it may be available on-line.

Subject: Salary question
I really need to find out what the salary ranges are for collection
managers and art handlers in museums or auction houses, preferably in
New York. Can anybody suggest a book, website, etc. that I can read
that will provide me with that information? Many thanks in advance for
any and all information.
