The cotton flannel treated to prevent tarnishing is available at US
fabric stores like Hancock, JoAnns and other chains. I have not seen it
at Wal-Mart, Hobby Lobby, Michaels or other craft stores.
Given time, a sharp eye and a handy petty cash system, "silver cloth"
bags and flatware rolls can be found at thrift stores and yard/estate
sales. If you are chummy with a local antiques dealer you may soon be up
to your knees in the stuff.
I do not think the stuff can be washed, but that is only a vague memory.
Hope this helps,
MD Smith
