Hello fellow list members,
Please DO NOT respond to me if you are interested in the following:
Announcement:
" The American Folklife Society, in partnership with the American
Folklife Center at the Library of Congress, is carrying out a project to
develop an Ethnographic Thesaurusa comprehensive catalog of terms and
background information that archivists and librarians can use to
classify the enormous variety of cultural practices and expressions that
folklorists, anthropologists, ethnomusicologists document in their work.
A shared set of terms and uses will help in the sharing of materials and
information worldwide. Start-up work on this project was supported by
funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Andrew W.
Mellon Foundation has provided major funding to enable us to complete
the project.
The Society is now offering four three-year, half time contract
positions to carry forward work on this project. The deadline for
applications is March 5, 2004."
