We are planning a reception where Board members personally invite
several people that are not currently supporters of the museum - about
50 people. The reception would include a tour, some music, some light
appetizers and a brief presentation about our museum. The objective
would be to show them what we have to offer and to let them know
different ways that they can support our efforts. This would not be a
hard-sell on getting a donation. We are looking for new members, new
volunteers, new people to take advantage of our classes etc. We would
love to see some donations come out of it down the road.
Has anyone done anything like this? If so, how did you 'frame' the
invitation to the people you wanted to come? What did you call the
event? What did you tell them about it up front?
Anything you can share would be very helpful!
